Dear Conceed Advocacy for HIV/AIDS,

It’s been a busy 2015 at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences as the Global Flow Cytometry Business Unit joins the mission to fight HIV/AIDS. During this past year there were a number of noteworthy milestones worth mention. First and foremost, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences has renewed commitment to bring innovative solutions for HIV patients. The AQUIOS CL was introduced into resource limited settings and achieved two stringent regulatory milestones: USFDA clearance and WHO Pre-Qualification. We are pleased to offer this platform for automated lab based testing in environments where expert Cytometry skills and staff tu-over are ongoing challenges.

Supporting the Beckman Coulter Life Science portfolio for HIV patients, The CARES Initiative was launched as our stake for demonstrating commitment supporting resource limited countries predominantly based in Africa. The CARES Initiative is a global initiative supporting the fight against HIV/AIDS and related co-infections. Driven by a social and civic responsibility we launched the CARES Initiative to offer support for the fight against HIV/AIDS. Public and private partnerships are being explored to contribute for the broader purpose. We conducted “voice of customer” with many of you gauging priority co-morbidities for HIV/TB patients. We seek to develop alliances and partner with NGO’s, implementing agencies, Health Policy organizations and funders to align our efforts. Finally, in the spirit of caring, we announced the annual CARES Award recognizing individuals who provide outstanding support for communities battling HIV/AIDS.

Throughout 2015 we renewed our relationship with many global organizations announcing our intentions for making a difference. Our goal was to join the global community committed for supporting UNAIDS 90-90-90. The epidemic poses many problematic challenges and Beckman Coulter Life Sciences as a Danaher operating company applies proprietary standardized business analytics tools for problem solving. Through the CARES Initiative we experimented with Danaher Business System (DBS) approaches looking for solutions to various complex logistical challenges for HIV patients in Africa. The result is partnership collaboration with a planned 2016 sponsored Pilot in one African country to find ways for improving operational efficiencies for how diagnostic testing services are delivered.

Much work lies ahead for Beckman Coulter Life Sciences to demonstrate our commitment through the CARES Initiative. We intend to build on the humble foundation established in 2015. In the coming months throughout 2016, you will hear more about our initiatives, successes, alliances, partnerships and portfolio of solutions. We will be accountable to you, our partners.

Respectfully,

Samuel (Tony) Boova | Director Alliance Development
